Deals rummy is a 13-card rummy variation that also shares some similarities with points rummy. In this variation, the player with the most chips at the end of the predetermined number of deals is deemed the winner. In many ways, compared to a variation of points rummy where the victor is determined after just one deal, this game offers a better opportunity to those who can continuously win one deal after another.

What is Deals Rummy?

Players in Deals Rummy use chips that are assigned at the start of the deal for a predetermined number of deals. At the conclusion of each transaction, one person wins all of the chips. The player with the most chips at the conclusion of a predetermined number of deals is declared the rummy game's victor.

How to play Deals Rummy on GetMega Rummy?

  • At the start of the deals rummy game, every player is assigned a predetermined number of chips.
  • These they will use to play for a specific number of deals.
  • A toss determines which player makes the first move.
  • Each player is dealt a random set of 13 cards.
  • The first card from the deck is placed face-up in the open deck at the start of the game.
  • The remaining cards are placed face-down in the closed deck of cards.
  • At the beginning of each game, a joker card is randomly selected.
  • The objective of the game is to arrange all 13 cards in hand into sequences and/or sets.
  • Each player takes turns picking or discarding a card from the closed/open deck to complete their sets and/or sequences.
  • One or more jokers can be used to complete sets and/or sequences
  • A player can move a card to the finish slot to declare their sets and sequences.
  • To declare, the player must group their cards in sets/sequences.
  • Click on the 'Declare' button.
  • It is compulsory to declare at least two sequences, one of which must be a pure sequence.
  • Players should be cautious when using two decks, as the same card cannot be used twice in a set (e.g., 7♠ 7♠ 7♥ is not a valid set).
  • After each deal, the player with the highest score wins chips from the losing players, based on their respective scores.
  • Once the predetermined number of deals is completed, players are ranked in descending order based on their chip count, with the player having the highest number of chips being awarded the highest rank. In case of a tie, players with the same chip count will play a tiebreaker game to determine their ranks.
  • The prize distribution is determined by the number of players that will be awarded prizes, with higher chip count players receiving a larger share of the prize pool.

Scoring and points calculation in Deals Rummy

After completing the game's objective in regard to the rummy deal rules, the player who finishes first wins. Depending on their score, each losing player gives the winner a certain amount of chips.

Calculating points for the losing player:

There are a certain number of points assigned to each card. The player that loses receives points based on the hand score that was determined as follows:

  • Any suit J, Q, K, and A each carry 10 points.
  • The points on all other numbered cards are equal to their face value, for example, 7 has 7 points and 3 has 3 points.
  • Joker cards are worth nothing.
  • With the following exceptions, a losing player's hand score is calculated at the end of the game by adding points for cards that are not categorized as sets or sequences. All cards are counted if the losing player has no pure sequence. If the losing player just possesses a pure sequence rather than two sequences, only the pure sequence is not taken into account.
  • A player may receive up to 80 points. For instance, a player will still receive just 80 points even though their hand score is 85. However, a player will receive 75 points if their hand score is 75.
  • Deal Show: The losing player receives points equal to half of his or her hand score if he or she hasn't taken a turn yet before the other player has made a legitimate declaration. For instance, if a losing player's hand score is 30 points, the player receives 15 points as his score.
  • In this scenario, a losing player can only receive two points (for scores 2, 3, 4, & 5).
  • In this scenario, a losing player can only receive up to 40 points (for scores of 80 or more).

What are the maximum points a player can get?

A player may receive up to 80 points in the rummy card deal. This indicates that the points are capped at 80 regardless of the person having higher value cards. Anything below 80 gets a given grade.

How are the winnings calculated in the Deals Rummy?

At the conclusion of each deal, one person wins all the chips as follows:

Assuming that each chip is worth one point, winnings equal the sum of all opponents' points.

Consider a game of Deals Rummy with six players. The other four players lose 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 points, respectively, when Player 5 declares. The winning combination of chips will be 10 + 15 + 20 + 25 + 30 = 100 chips.

How does the drop option work?

2-Player Games

In two-player games, dropping a deal is not an option.

A player is instantly eliminated from the game with a score equal to the hand score but capped at 80 points if they miss three consecutive turns.

More than 2 player games

  • Throughout the course of the game, each player has the ability to end it.
  • The player must not have chosen a card from the open or closed deck that turn in order to use the Drop option.
  • First Drop: A player receives 20 points if they lose the game during their very first turn.
  • Middle Drop: A player receives 40 points if they lose the game in a turn other than the first.
  • Special circumstance: A player is instantly removed from the game if they miss three consecutive turns. In other words, this player receives a midrange drop score.
  • Disconnection-Scenario: You can select what should happen on the game table in the event that you get unconnected in the "Options" "Game Play Option" section of the game table.
  • After three failed moves, you have the option of being dropped from the game or continuing to play until your connection is restored.

What if I miss three moves?

2 Player Games

A player is instantly eliminated from the game with a score equal to the hand score but capped at 80 points if they miss three consecutive turns.

More than 2 player games

A player is eliminated from the game immediately if they miss three consecutive turns. In other words, this player receives a midrange drop score.

What are the chips and how are they allotted?

The players' agreed-upon transactions form the foundation for allocating the chips. At the beginning of the game, each player pays the entry fee. The number of deals to be played, multiplied by the highest possible score (80 points) by each player, determines how many chips will be distributed. Each player will be given 400 chips to play with if there are 5 deals to be made.

The total score of all the played deals is used to calculate the score. As a result, the winner of the game is the person who finished with the highest overall score.

  • Each participant in a deals rummy game is given a set number of chips at the start of the game.
  • The number of deals to be played on that table, as well as the number of players seated there, are taken into consideration while determining the chips.
  • For instance, 480 tournament chips are distributed to each player at a table at the start of a game with six deals to be played.

How are the chips settled at the end of the deal?

In the game, one chip equals one point.

At the conclusion of each deal, one person wins all the chips as follows:

  • Winnings = (Sum of all Opponents' Points) X (1 tournament chip)
  • For instance, if there are six players at the table and Player 5 declares, the remaining five players each lose by 10, 20, 30, 35, and 40 points.
  • The winner receives 135 chips in total (10 + 20 + 30 + 35 + 40 = 135 chips).
  • The player with the most chips at the conclusion of predetermined deals is deemed the winner.
