In a rummy card game, generally, a 52 deck card along with 1 or 2 jokers are used.
The number of decks used is different in each version. Generally, 2 decks are used. In our popular Indian rummy, for a 2 player game, 2 decks are used. But for more than 2 players, 3 decks are used.
The no of cards in rummy dealt with each player depends on the variation of the rummy card game.
Indian rummy- 13 cards
Canasta rummy- 11 cards
London rummy= 13 cards
In basic rummy, if there are two players then each player gets ten cards. If there are three or four players then seven cards are dealt with each one. For five or six player games, each person gets six cards.

The highest value card in rummy is generally the joker or the wildcard. Each has 15 points
- K, Q, J usually has 10 points
- Aces are also considered as high cards and have 15 points each.
- 2-10= generally equal to face value
Like a rummy number of cards, the rummy highest card depends on the time of the rummy variation you are playing. For example, in Gin rummy Ace is a low card. Some versions of the rummy card game allow you to consider Ace both as a high and a low card.

Joker and Wild Cards
In rummy, there is a Printed Joker and a Wild Card. Wildcards are any random card that is selected at the beginning of the game. For example- 8♦
Both are used to represent any other card.

4♣ 5♣ 8♦ (8♦ is a wildcard used to represent 6♣)
6♦ 7♦ 8♦ (although 8♦ is a wildcard, here it used as itself)
Remember the order from 2-King remains the same in most rummy card games. However, the value of ace may vary. For example, in Indian rummy, the ace is a high card. In continental rummy, the ace is both a high card and a low card.
In some 500 rummy games, “going around the corner" is allowed. This means you can make 1 sequence where Ace is both high and low (e.g. Q♠ K♠ A♠ 2♠).

Scoring. The hand concludes when a player is eliminated, and the players count their cards. Each player's remaining cards are counted and added to the winner's score. The face cards are worth ten each, the number cards are worth their face value, and the aces are worth one.
Spades, Hearts, Clubs, and Diamonds each have 13 cards. Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, and King are the 13 cards. Aside from the 13 cards that make up a conventional deck of cards, every deck of cards includes 2-3 printed jokers.
When two people play together, each of them receives ten cards. Each player receives seven cards when three or four people play; when five or six people participate, each player receives six cards. The stock is formed by placing the remaining cards face down on the table. The upcard is the stock's top card, which is turned face up.
Three or more cards of the same rank in different suits is called a set in rummy. You can use a joker or a wildcard also to form sets.

A player must not have melded or laid off any cards prior to declaring rummy during the hand. They must discard after merging if they are using the discard rule. When a card can be played, a player who goes rummy is out for that turn. The game players remain in the game, but the hand is no longer active.
Ace can be deemed high or low in Rummy Card Game Rules, but not both. It is considered low if the runs are A-2-3. When the runs are A-K-Q, the score is considered high.
The four original French suits of centuries ago are still preserved in today's 52-card deck: clubs (), diamonds (), hearts (), and spades (). These visual symbols, known as "pips," exhibit little resemblance to the objects they represent, but they were far easier to duplicate than more elaborate themes.
The cards are arranged in the following order: A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, A. That means the sequences 'Q', 'K', 'A', and 'A', '2', '3' are valid in Rummy, but 'K', 'A', '2' is not. 2.

Each of the face cards and aces is worth ten points. The face values of the numbered cards are valid. The King of Hearts, for example, is worth 10 points, whereas the 5 of Spades is for 5.
