As a result, you have multiple options to play and be good at a certain version of your liking. One such variant is that of Omaha. It is arguably the most popular game of poker after Texas Hold’em. In this article, we will take you through all there is to know about the game of Omaha and most importantly, the best hands in Omaha poker.

What is Omaha Poker?

Omaha Hold'em Poker, or Omaha Poker, is a somewhat similar card game to Texas Hold'em Poker. Omaha Hold’em Poker is a community card game invented in Downey, California, by Mr. Robert Turner, a professional poker player. This game can be played by 2 to 10 people and is played with a deck of 52 cards. In this game, each of the players is dealt 4 cards, face down, by the dealer. These cards are also known as hole cards. The dealer then gives everyone 5 cards on the table, face up. These are called community cards. These 5 cards are not dealt simultaneously. Next, the dealer hands out 3 community cards, face up, referred to as the flop.

This is followed by the fourth community card, face up, also known as the turn or the fourth street, and the fifth community card, also known as the river or the fifth street, is handed out face up. The players are then tasked with making a combination of a five card hand with the dealt cards. In order to form the best hand combination they can, players must use exactly 2 of the hole cards they are dealt and combine them with exactly 3 of the 5 group cards dealt face-up on the table. The player with the best and the highest hand combination is declared the winner.
