MS Megabyte factsheets ozdirectory Magazine, new Mini-PC with rotating monitor, Rubber Keyboard and SPEEDskins
ozdirectory magazine
Out on August 15 in lots of selected newsagents, its Australia's best listing of websites (even if I do say so myself!!). Used in conjunction with our website at ozdirectory.com.au, its going to save you HEAPS of time by FINDING sites for you, instead of all that searching you normally do!
Mini-PC
An all-in-one mini book sized PC, with everything you'd expect from a normal desktop PC, except for the size! Imagine taking your entire PC with you from office to office, and just plugging into someone's monitor, keyboard and mouse when you get there.
It has a swappable CD-ROM/DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive, all the ports you'd require (parallel, serial, VGA, mouse, keyboard, USB, telephone jack, audio jack AND infra red port.) It also has an attachable floppy disk drive.
The Mini-PC is an Intel Pentium III and comes in either 866mhz, 933mhz or 1ghz with a choice of either 128mb or 256mb of RAM and a 10 or 20gb hard drive. It comes with a 56k Modem and best of all, a DMC 15" LCD Panel flat screen monitor which can ROTATE to read long documents.
The basic configuration is under $4,000 inc GST.
To purchase the DMC monitor on its own: $999. It also comes in an 18" version at $2800.
Available at The Good Guys or Retravision. Distributed by Digiland, if you can't find one at the abovementioned stores, phone Digiland on 1300 65 2005.
Rubber Keyboard
This keyboard does everything a normal keyboard would do, except you can ROLL it up and put it away. Also water resistant! Great for field workers or travellers, it costs around $79.
Available at The Good Guys or Retravision. Distributed by Digiland, if you can't find one at the abovementioned stores, phone Digiland on 1300 65 2005.
Speedskins
SPEEDSKINs are opaque, flexible and removable keyboard covers that come in two basic forms:
The original SPEEDSKIN which hides the alpha and numeric keys and acts as an aid to learning to touch type (no peeking!) and c-SKIN - the SPEEDSKIN overprinted with an alternate character set, enabling you to change the character of your PC simply by changing the language settings within the Windows or Apple OS control panel and placing a matching c-SKIN over the keyboard.
Take an English c-SKIN with you overseas - especially to Europe and Asia - and use it to swap the keyboard layout back to something familiar when using Internet cafes or a colleague's system.
Use the English upper/lower case c-SKIN to assist young children who have yet to learn upper case letters to use a keyboard.
Introductory price for the basic "skins" is $19.95. The upper/lower case
version is $29.95. All available only online at
