The Internet seems to have a cure, or at least a research step for everything, and now headaches and migranes are no exception....

Put together by a chiropractor and with the help of all sorts of doctors, at http://www.headache.com.au, you can find out the cause of all sorts of headaches, ranging from dental issues to neck pain. You'll find causes, treatment and even a list of Australian practitioners. There's even a chat room, to show you you're not alone!

A group of Optometrists and Contact Lens practitioners put together http://www.contactsonline.com.au - where you can order a huge range of brands and prices. You must have an existing prescription, and be trained how to insert and protect your lenses, then you can order online. You can even send a question to a qualified Optometrist for help.

http://www.epharmacy.com.au is an online pharmacy. They have a 1300 number you can call for qualified help during business hours, and you need a valid prescription to be sent in the mail before you can order online. There is a database of 'Health Information' - hundreds of fact sheets on anything you can think of!

http://www.emedical.com.au has online consulting - where you type in a question and will be provided with an answer within 2 days. Its a great option for people who've either recently been diagnosed or knows someone who has and wants more info on the topic. It costs $20 to ask a question. There are also free doctor-led chatrooms on special topics, like 'coughs and colds'; 'asthma', etc.

The Intel Philanthropic Peer-to-Peer Program helps to combat life-threatening illnesses by linking millions of personal PCs into the largest and fastest computing resource in history. This "virtual supercomputer" uses peer-to-peer technology to make unprecedented amounts of processing power available to medical researchers to accelerate the development of improved treatments and drugs that could potentially cure diseases. At http://www.intel.com.au/cure, you can download a program that will make use of your computer's unused processing power for a good cause. There are over 500 thousand already in use.

http://www.breastcare4women.com provides women with up to date information on breast care and a FREE and discreet monthly reminder to perform Breast Exams. Kathy created the site, and both her mother and herself are breast cancer survivors. There's all sorts of info like nutrition, fitness tips and stories.

For prevention rather than cure, visit http://www.getfit.com.au for online fitness training (at a cost), questions and to join the newsletter. The best section is the exercises - click on the body to get instructions on exercises for that area.
