Yvonne and Ms Megabyte are true multi-media personalities, with a career that spans print, television, radio and the Internet…. even the odd shopping centre demonstration!

A regular on Channel 10’s new show, “9am with david and kim” and recently seen on GMA, Ms Megabyte is popularly known for her TV appearances on shows such as Sunrise, the Today Show and The Panel.

Mega’s mission is to take the hard out of hardware, the science out of software and remove the fears and frustrations often associated with everyday technology.

In the 90s, Yvonne spent many years working with Microsoft in Australia and the UK. She started her own consultancy advising high profile corporations and personal users how to get the most from their computers. Realising a childhood dream to one day be on TV, she realised she could use it to get her message across to a wider audience.

Yvonne has an innate ability to make computing easy and above all, entertaining and this lead to the birth of the Ms Megabyte character. Now a household name (1 in 5 people have heard of Ms Megabyte), Mega regularly shares her everyday computing tips and tricks in the media. She’s helped thousands of Australians embrace the technology around them and has written for various publications including Real Living, Women’s Weekly, Woman’s Day, Practical Parenting, MX and the Big Issue.

Although Mega was the adapting editor of the Australian version of PC’s for Dummies, mid 2003 saw the release of her first book Conquer Your Computer – which became an official best seller (over 12,000 copies). A revised, bumper edition is to be published in Feb 2006. Ms Megabyte also wrote and recorded hundreds of little computer lessons and launched an online lesson library (conqueryourcomputer.com.au).

Regularly sought after as a corporate speaker, Mega loves getting up in front of an audience and the most common feedback is ‘she’s a breath of fresh air!’. She can talk about most things, but her standard topics range from ‘Taming Tomorrows Technology’ to ‘Women in IT’ and ‘Work Life Balance’. The latter she finds a constant challenge, given she has three children aged 8mths, 4yrs and 12yrs, a very helpful husband and runs her own computer support and training consultancy employing 3.
